PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AWAY!
Barbie and Cindy were signed over by the owner for rehoming as she didn’t want them anymore. Sadly they had been kept outside 24/7 for the last year or two which is no life for older cats and considering the extreme winter conditions. Their owner said she didn’t want them in the house because she didn’t want her furniture to get scratched or dirty. We are thankful that she felt they would be better off rehomed and came to us for help.
They are sisters and cannot be parted. Barbie is mostly black with a white nose and Cindy is almost all black with a white chin, whiskers and paws. Both are already neutered, they are in good health, Barbie has had a dental which resulted in 2 extractions and Cindy had some ear drops which she received with no problems and her ears are now fine. They have been wormed and flead, micro-chipped and vaccinated.
These gorgeous girlies are very friendly and easy to pick up although they were a little shy to start with (and will be in the new home) but soon became confident and settled. They are litter trained and clean. They were quite stiff in movement upon arrival; we think that living outside in the cold climate had made them a bit stiff but now they are moving about a lot quicker and are more sprightly! They were very hungry cats and wolfed their food down, we think that’s because they were given limited time to eat in their previous home and never had food available to them, they now know food is always on tap!
Barbie and Cindy are great to have around - they get on well with everyone in the house and are always around us, Barbie even likes watching the vacuum - she doesn't run off! When they are hungry they will come and let you know and are always on the look out for a person to sit next to. They also don't mind being left alone. When we go to bed, they quite happily go off to their own beds. They adore being stroked and having their cheeks and chin rubbed, they are so friendly and approachable.
They will suit a home with no other pets or small children. Please don’t let their age put you off, we hope they have a good few years yet, people don’t realise but cat’s can live to be 20+! |
