Male Fostered - Higher Sutton, Cheshire 2/10/11

Update 18th January 2012:

Mickey has had diarea and his stools have been tested negative for anything that could cause this. We are now trying a special diet to see if that helps so hopefully this will help his upset tummy!

Fosterer update 31st December:

Mickey has settled in very well with me and is not at all nervous of strangers. When a friend arrives he immediately sits on their lap and wants cuddles. He would spend all day on my lap if he could - a purrfect excuse to avoid doing the housework! He has the sweetest nature and would make someone a lovely companion.

Fosterer update 21st November:

Mickys wound has now healed very well & hair is now covering the whole area.
It all looks very neat. Micky is now absolutely fine getting around on 3 legs - nothing
seems to faze him. He happily climbs the stairs, jumps up on the bed, sofa etc.
Micky adores being stroked & cuddled, rewarding you with his deep purrs!
He is very sociable - happy to meet new people, fine around children - he hasn't
scratched anyone even when faced with an over excited 5 year old!

Micky would make a lovely loyal pet for anyone.

Mickey

was brought into the vets a possible RTA (road traffic accident) victim.
He had a fractured pelvis which is healing very nicely naturally
but unfortunately his hind left leg didn't recover and had to be amputated.

He is a little snuffly which the vets feel is stress related but he is on antibiotics for that. Mickey has been wormed/flead, micro-chipped and is already neutered. He will start vaccinations soon. Mickey presently has diarrhea so he is on Hills i/d senstitive food which should resolve the problem.

Mickey has been through a terrible ordeal and is really quite timid
and nervous of his surroundings.
He's a beautiful looking cat and we can't believe his owner hasn't come forward.
He has adapted so well to walking on 3 legs,
we are always amazed at how animals just get on with it unlike us humans!

Mickey's wonderful foster family will be assessing him
but if he's rehomed sooner rather than later we'd prefer a child and pet free home.

Black is Beautiful!
But sadly black cats are overlooked.
It is very sad that black kittens and cats are often overlooked
as people choose more 'pretty' colours,
this can mean that black cats and kittens can remain with foster carers
and in catteries for much longer than is ideal -
when what they really need is to be cared for in their own permanent home.

Black cats really are as cute and beautiful as any other and of course the colour of a cats fur
has no influence on how friendly and affectionate it is.
Pure black cats are very common indeed,
we have many that come into our care each year, they all need to be rehomed.
So please find it in your heart to look past their colour!
