Cheeko is such a sweet old lady! She loves nothing more than to snooze, eat and potter around on short walks. She is always pleased to see people and will happily be fussed and have cuddles all day.

She is looking for an adult-only, quiet retirement home where she can live a comfortable and happy life. She could be rehomed with another elderly dog and with cats.

Cheeko’s owner’s daughter contacted the branch out of concern for her wellbeing because she was being shut away in a room and neglected. We knew she had health problems but were very shocked at her condition when she arrived. She was in a terrible state, half her fur was missing, she was covered in pus and sores, very underweight and weak on her legs. The bed that came with her was thick with black grease accumulated over years which paints a very sad and tragic picture of her life.

After a few weeks of tender loving care and veterinary care, she is now ready to find a retirement home. She is not housed in the kennel block but in the office with staff members which is lovely! Cheeko does have a skin condition that will require long term treatment and a couple of ailments to be discussed – for more information about Cheeko please contact the animal centre.
