Sparkle

Sparkle is absolutely stunning! She is quite big for a Staffy (possibly a cross) and is really friendly and gentle. She absolutely loves to play and is full of fun. She is good with other dogs; she was scared and submissive of them at first but she has blossomed and loves to play, she can be rehomed with older children.

Sparkle will wait and sit for you to throw a ball. She is house trained and walks well on the lead. She has learnt some tricks with her foster Mum (see recent video) and is a very clever girl! She loves her home comforts and dislikes bad weather! Sparkle is so well behaved. She has been known to cower and cringe away but this has improved. Seems she’s scared of cats and sheep!

Staffies make wonderful family pets...they are known as the Nanny dog for that reason. They are loyal and real companion dogs and normally easy to train. With being a young dog she will need plenty of exercise. How can any Staffy lover turn their back on this Sparkly eyed lady! Her fosterers will miss her terribly when she goes but she really does deserve to find her forever home.

Sparkle has Demodex which means she is on a monthly spot on treatment and a weekly Aludex shampoo. She will need skin scrapes every few weeks; when 2 come back negative then treatment will end. We would be willing to cover the cost of this.
Demodex is NOT contagious. All mammals carry Demodex including humans. When the immune system isn't at it's best (quite often through puberty) this is when the the mange can flare up. It's a mite that causes hair loss and itchiness and is very common.

Sparkle will be vaccinated and spayed (which is mandatory) when the demodex is clear and we will cover the cost of this.

We really hope this does not discourage anyone from applying to adopt Sparkle.
