Just
how do you go about giving us a helping hand?
For a start, what about
printing out a volunteers poster
and
displaying it where you work?
See
'downloads' to the left.
Anyway,
here's just a few areas in which you
can help...
FUNDRAISING
AND GENERAL HELPERS
Foremost
amongst our needs is
funds! The structure and commitments of
the branch call for regular fund raising events each year which, in
turn calls for enthusiastic volunteer fundraisers with lots of ideas!
They will want the branch to be as effective as possible in looking
after animals all over the branch area.
If
the organiser part puts
you
off, we still need helpers galore at most events.
FOSTERING
An
important part of our
rehoming programme. If you are willing to
foster an animal, pending it finding a new home and won't have more
than four animals (including your foster visitor) in the house, you can
help us. This facility is especially needed where a foster pet has a
special need for 'home attention' and kennels or a cattery are not the
best boarding solution. Insurance cover is provided for fosterers and
we will need to 'approve you'.
HOME
VISITING
Home
Visitors are essential in
the chain of events leading to an animal
being successfully rehomed.
Those
wanting to adopt an
RSPCA animal must
be seen at home to ensure animal/adopter best match.
Follow-up
visits
are made after the animal has settled in its new home.
Home
Visitors
are all volunteers, reporting to the branch homing co-ordinator
(another volunteer).
If
being a Branch Home
Visitor interests you,
the
society will give you training and the branch will help you learn the
ropes to be active in your area.
COMMITTEE
MEMBER/BRANCH TRUSTEE
A
committee of trustees, elected
annually at the AGM is responsible for
fundraising and welfare initiatives along with rehoming. If becoming a
trustee and comittee member interests you and you are willing to devote
some time to the running of the branch, please send us an email or
click on the "volunteer vacancy" panel right . Currently, committee
meetings take place monthly either in Congleton or Macclesfield.
Whatever,
you feel you can do to help - let us know
by using 'Get in touch' link to
left.
