Jackson and Bella – Happy Ending

The RSPCA received several complaints over dogs not being fed and cared for properly. The owner sadly was an alcoholic who was upset at the fact he could not look after them admitting to only feeding them ad lib. The house and garden was covered in faeces. Sadly with addictions like this the animals basic needs tend to come last.

Father and daughter were rehomed together, here is an update from their wonderful new owner;

Things here are still going great. Both Jackson and Bella both happily go outside for a wee and a poo now. Their characters have developed this lastweek. Neither of them knew how to play when they first came to us. Now they will chase after a ball outside and inside the house they throw their toys around and chase after them. They have also learned how to catch a treat when we throw it to them. The sun is shining here at the moment and they are both lying on the rug in front of the patio window enjoying the sun. They are both great with our grandchildren. They are very gentle and loves snuggling up on the settee with them. Jackson is easily distracted when wego out for a walk if he sees a cat and Bella always wants to investigatewhen she sees birds. They are generally good on their leads on our walks,but we have had a couple of strange occasions when they have really barked at someone. We don’t know why, but they calm down as soon as we’ve gone past. Perhaps they remind them of something not nice in their previous home? They both eat well and have developed good manners with their food bowls,each eating their own calmly, instead of running around between both bowls.We are so pleased with them both and they have settled in really well. We had an email yesterday to say the microchip details have now been swapped over to us, so that’s good.They like to sit up on the front window sill. None of our other dogs have ever done this. We don’t encourage it, but if we go to the bins or do something at the front outside, they jump up and watch. It makes us laugh.I hope you continue to keep finding homes for all the other animals that come to you. It is a never ending cycle for you. I do admire everything you do.
