Lulu has spent 1 year 2 months at one of our case centres while a case was built against the owner for cruelty. A large number of animals were living in disgusting conditions, all were seized and the owner successfully prosecuted and banned from keeping all animals. Now the case is over Lulu has been transferred to our branch for rehoming. It brings tears to your eyes knowing that this beautiful lady was so badly treated in her life. She has no doubt been smacked a lot, she can be nervous and hand shy, she does prefer females but she is fine with men just more shy. When she gets to know you she is bubbly, sweet and tail is up and she has the dreamiest eyes when you gently fuss her, the trust she has in you after a while is heart warming. Lulu can be a very independent dog but we think that is because of lack of socialising as a puppy. She loves to sit on your knee and have a fuss and does love her command spin! She will probably need to learn basic commands with positive re-enforcement. She is so easy to bath and groom and is lovely to walk to on the lead. She is on weekly Malaseb baths, so any new owner must continue with this long term, due to the severe neglect she has Dermatitis which will be ongoing. She is on steroids but this is really on vet’s advice, she can finish her course of Steroids and she only needs to be on them really if her skin is causing her grief, so the new owner must be able to see a vet with her when this happens.

Lulu was rehomed from the centre before she came to us, with one of the dogs she came in with but didn’t get on with the resident dog, so she was returned. We’re looking for a pet free home for this reason. She is good with other dogs, has been known to be a bit grumbly at the centre with some but overall we have to give her a gold star considering she’s only ever known nice walks and canine interactions since being with the RSPCA. She LOVES her walks. She is already neutered, we’ve had her micro chipped and vaccinated. Due to her shyness she would suit an adult only home, someone who is around a lot to shower her with the love and attention she deserves!
