Tiny – German Shepherd Dog

9 years old
Arrived 7th October, 2019
Boarded at Chesterfield RSPCA Animal Centre

Tiny is a lovely boy, a handsome chap who is looking for an experienced (ideally with GSDs) new owner.

He is very friendly but an anxious dog and he can easily become excitable – the old boy has spirit! He is super clever and loves his food so should respond well to reward based training. He also likes to carry toys in his mouth.

The conditions he was being kept were unacceptable, an outside pen with just a couple of planks above for shelter! He was found cold, wet, very matted and unhappy.

He’s now been castrated and dematted, his coat was really bad around his back end in particular and his ears were infected. So Tiny will also need an owner who is able to monitor his ears for signs of infection and clean them on a regular basis.

Tiny is looking for a home with older children (13 years plus) with no other pets. He can become worried and frustrated around other dogs and will need some training and management in this area. But saying that, the kennel environment is not the norm for any dog so he will, no doubt, be much happier once settled in a loving home.
