BRANCH VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR
Wanted

To act as the focal point and first contact for those people wishing to volunteer

to help the branch in any way
This appointment in the branch is normally a committee appointment
and as such requires the person in post to be a paid-up member of the RSPCA,
though in the interim, co-option to the committee,
as a person Pending membership, is a possibility.
The main approach to volunteer is online, via the branch web site
Though verbal and other forms of approach are used.

Any response to applicants is made, initially by telephone to assess their interest more fully,
let
them know something of the branch and its activities and role, glean further
information on the potential
volunteer and record their details on the branch database -
a specially written Excel-based form filling front
end programme.
This, needless to say, means that ownership of a computer
at home is required along with
broadband for it.
The Volunteer Co-ordinator, mainly through proactive efforts online and at events,

oversees the growth and encouragement of volunteer recruitment.
He or she also interfaces volunteers with
various committee and other branch activists
as needed for various volunteer activities such as fostering,
fundraising, transporting animals, etc.

BRANCH TREASURER
Post Now Taken

To act as
branch financial officer maintaining and administering the finances of the branch.
In general this
will include book-keeping and knowledge of accounting practices
as relevant to a registered charity. The
Treasurer would be expected to take a lead role
in ensuring that the committeee establish annual budgets,
forward plan to balance accounts, provide a financial update at every committeee meeting
showing income
and expenditure since the previous meeting,
prepare accounts for audit in time for AGM and lodging with the
Charity Commission.

Ideally, the successful applicant would be expected to be a paid-up member of the society
and where this is
not the case, initially he or she would be co-opted to the committee
in the interim. The post calls for the
applicant to give a couple of hours a week of his/her time, working from home, to attend branch. monthly meetings
and generally to be in touch with others in the branch on a 'needs must basis'.
 For those
reasons, where much of the communication is via email,
the applicant would be expected to have a
computer and email facilities.

The branch is looking for an incumbent who can serve for a year at least,
the post being subject to re-lection
at each AGM.

The post is voluntary and unpaid.

BRANCH FUNDRAISING CO-ORDINATOR
Post Now Taken

A post which is both demanding and vital to the branch in that being
'self-funding' for all but a small amount of the costs for receiving, accommodating,
caring for and re-homing rescue and abandoned animals –
we do not get any financial help from the national RSPCA therefore our branch,
which is solely run by volunteers, must raise it’s own funds.
Using existing and new volunteers we need to achieve the best income
within the geographical area within the branch boundary
(See
.....
"About Us" web page and download branch map).

The successful applicant would be expected to be a paid-up member of the society.

http://www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/supportus/joinus/adultmember

Where this is not the case, initially he or she would be co-opted to the committee
in the interim pending membership conformity.
However, you do not have to be a committee member to fulfil this position
but it would be hoped that you did become so as the role is key to the committee.

It is what you make of it; it can be fun and very rewarding
knowing how much money you are raising in order to help even more animals!
The branch cannot run without donations from the general public
so you’d need to come up with ideas for events like fun days, dog shows,
stalls, piggybacking on other organisations events, quiz nights,
or whatever you can think of and co-ordinate and manage them.
Some of our volunteers will need your guidance when taking part in such activities.

The branch is looking for an incumbent who can serve for a year at least,
the post being subject to re-lection at each AGM.
The post is voluntary and unpaid.
We are looking for someone who would be willing to commit
as all too often we are let down by people.
Perhaps you are retired, or work part time.
If you’ve got time on your hands and want to help abused and neglected animals
then this is the job for you!

The post is voluntary and unpaid

PUBLICITY OFFICER
Post Now Taken

The pubicity post calls for good copy skills,
regular contact with the many media across the branch area
including both press and radio.
An understanding of online magazines and newspapers
and their role in the
community plus being able to submit online stories is useful.

The branch is looking for an incumbent who can serve for a year at least,
the post being subject to re-lection
at each AGM
where the incumbent seeks a committee vacancy.

The post is voluntary and unpaid
