Freckles & Mac – Rabbits

Female Lionhead & Male Cross breed
3 years old and young adult
Arrived 3rd September and 4th July, 2019
Boarded at Rode Heath

Freckles’ owner landed up with too many rabbits which was unmanageable, Freckles has not had a good quality of life for the last year, just kept in hutch. She’s never had company of another rabbit and must have been so lonely so she’s looking for a neutered boy to bond with.

She is a friendly rabbit who likes toys. Like all rabbits, she does not like being picked up but can be stroked and her mane brushed! She has started vaccinations, has been microchipped and neutered, post-op she did become poorly with Gut Stasis but, after treatment, is now signed off by the vet.

Mac came into our care via Greater Manchester Animal Hospital. An Inspector picked him up as a stray, he has either escaped from somewhere or been dumped. He was desparate for a bunny friend so we bonded him with Freckles. He’s a scared little bunny and would prefer a home without other pets ie cats/dogs. He’s a really good hay eater which is great!

Housing requirement is a ‘minimum’ sized 6 x 2 x 2ft hutch with a minimum ‘attached’ 8 x 6ft or 10 x 4ft run, depending on the size of the rabbits, PLUS freedom to a secure garden/alternative area for stimulation, or a bespoken set up; exercise space and enrichment is most important! Existing rabbit needs to be vaccinated with RHD1/Myx and RHD2. We do offer a free bonding service too!
